Western Jurisdiction Global Ministries Secretaries Meet in Cal-Nevada

Western Jurisdiction Conference Secretaries of Global Ministries are meeting in the California-Nevada Annual Conference November 19-21.

The California-Nevada Annual Conference is hosting the fall gathering of the Western Jurisdiction Conference Secretaries of Global Ministries this week. Thursday and Friday (November 19-20), the group is gathering at the United Methodist Center in West Sacramento, California, with a mission exposure trip scheduled for Saturday.

On Friday, the conference secretaries will hear a message from Cal-Nevada's resident bishop, Warner H. Brown, Jr., followed by a briefing by staff of the General Board of Global Ministries.
 
Saturday morning the group will travel to Pinole United Methodist Church for "Pasasalamat," the Filipino-American Thanksgiving celebration, and a traditional Filipino lunch. The group will go on to San Francisco in the afternoon, to visit two of GBGM's National Missions Institutions - Gum Moon, a women's residence and Asian women's resource center, and Mary Elizabeth Inn, which also provides housing and support services for women.
