Bishop Schnase's New Book Is Available
5/13/2010
Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations has helped hundreds of churches clarify their mission to transform the world. Now, Bishop Robert Schnase is re-visiting those Five Practices by drilling them down to a personal faith level.
In his new book (just released), Five Practices of Fruitful Living, Bishop Schnase provides a guide to the individual spiritual journey. While the focus of the Five Practices – Radical Hospitality, Passionate Worship, Intentional Faith Development, Risk-Taking Mission and Service, and Extravagant Generosity – was on congregations, members of those congregations have asked, "How do I put them to use in my daily walk?" By looking at the practices from a different perspective – receiving God's love, loving God in return, growing in grace, loving and serving others, and the grace of giving – individuals will discover the spiritual life and the difference God intends for them to make in the world.
Bishop Schnase will be keynote speaker and a workshop leader for the California-Nevada Annual Conference Session, June 16-19 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Consider reading Five Practices of Fruitful Living (available now for $10 through Cokesbury), in preparation.
The book will be available to purchase at ACS, also.
In addition, a two-disc DVD of a Five Practices workshop Bishop Schnase conducted March 6 at South Reno UMC is available to purchase online when you register for ACS.
