NASHVILLE, Tenn. (GBOD)—The Rev. Dr. Ken Sloane will begin work Oct. 1 as Director of Stewardship at the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD), where he will help congregations determine effective ways of giving, as well as embracing stewardship of all areas of life within a discipleship system.

Giving Decline Means Disappointed Scholarship Applicants

A 13-percent decline in giving to Student Day, coupled with increases in eligible applicants and reductions in other funds, means several hundred United Methodist scholarship applicants are likely to be disappointed this year unless significant donations are made on line before June.
