SPSARV, established by the 1992 General Conference, develops UMC leadership by providing ministries of prevention, treatment and advocacy as they respond to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug issues. SPSARV provides training and networking opportunities, technical assistance, funding, and serves as an advocate for public policy that protects and restores. For more information about SPSARV, click here.

Rev. Cynthia Sloan serves as program associate for the United Methodist Special Program on Substance Abuse and Related Violence (SPSARV), where she coordinates the delivery of training and resources for clergy and congregational ministry development.
